SEASONAL VEGETABLE Freeze Dried Bird Chop

Our chop is locally sourced and made with only human grade vegetables, cooked legumes, grains and sprouted healthy seeds.

No fruit or nuts are included as we find birds tend to fill up on these and not eat the more nutritious vegetables offered.

Ingredients in batches will vary depending on seasonality. We aim to include more than 10 vegetables in each batch with additional legumes, healthy seeds, grains and sprouts.
Ingredients can include but are not limited to kale, sweet potato, silverbeet, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, corn, pak choy, okra, green beans, pumpkin, jalapenos, capscium, beetroot, zucchini, raddish, cooked mung beans, cooked lentils, cooked chickpeas, ground flaxseed, cooked barley, cooked buckwheat, sprouted tricolour quinoa, chia seeds and hemp seeds.

Freeze drying retains up to 97% of the original nutritional value of the ingredients, it doesn't change the look or taste of food and has up to a 25 year shelf life if stored correctly.

DIRECTIONS

You can serve our chop dry or wet. We recommend adding 1:1 ratio of water to freeze dried chop if serving wet. It will instantly rehydrate. Simply mix and serve. Drain excess water. Please note freeze dried chop will not expand dramatically after rehydration. We recommend feeding our chop first thing in the morning as this will be when your bird is the hungriest.

Sampler (equivalent to 2 cups, 45 grams)
Small bag (equivalent to 4 cups, 90 grams)
Large bag (equivalent to 8 cups, 180 grams)
**Please note net weight is due to freeze dried food weighing as little as 12% of original fresh weight due to the freeze drying process removing about 98% of a food’s water content.

SERVING SIZES

Small birds (budgies, canaries, cockatiels etc) : 1/2 tbsp

Medium birds (caiques, conures, lorikeets etc) : 1 tbsp
Large birds (Eclectuses, galahs, cockatoos etc) : 2 tbsps

**Please note these are only starting guides, you may need to add more or less depending on your bird's appetite.

EXPIRATION DATE
We recommend storing in a dark cool place and using within 3 months of opening. Please squeeze the air out and re-seal the bag tightly after each use. Moisture and humidity will increase the rate of spoilage of freeze dried food.

Please make sure you check the food before serving. Any change in appearance, smell or texture may indicate that freeze dried food is spoiled and should not be give to your bird.
If packaging has been left unsealed for long periods, the freeze dried food should be discarded. If you have any concerns please send us a message via our socials or email.

We take the utmost care to ensure your product arrives in the perfect condition. However as freeze dried products can be fragile, there is a small chance of breakage during transit.
